RE+new

Opened in 2008, RE+new is a special shop in Woodbridge Suffolk.  Run by Geoff Witts, he gathers together a unique blend of work by local contemporary artists and craftspeople combined with a stunning mix of new and classic furniture.  He also has his own brand of simple but functional journals, art books and stationery which are a joy to use.

My favourite is this long thin sketchbook, perfect for landscapes.  They are made in Suffolk using quality paper and materials.

RE+new has some of my prints in the collection and Geoff has written very nice things about my work on his recently launched new website.  I urge you to visit this wonderful place of good taste next time you are in the Woodbridge area.

Tea Towels now available

Here are photos of my brand new tea towels - Silver birch wood with long tailed tits.  They have been screen printed onto 100% unbleached cotton by Bryan Franks. I also designed and produced the packaging.  There are only 124 in this edition and they cost £8 each plus postage.

One week until the Christmas Show

Next Monday the Cambridge Christmas Show opens to the public at 4pm until 9pm.

I am busy finalising some new pebble prints and some black and white collographs, based on the work of Cornish primitive painter Alfred Wallis.  My new screen printed tea towels, have arrived, so they will be available at the show.  I will also have my coasters, wrapping paper and plenty of cards and tags to start off your festive shopping.

Cambridge Contemporary Art

I met two of my favourite artists on Friday at the preview of their new show at Cambridge Contemporary Art.  Rob Ryan, who signed my copy of 'This is for You' and the fabulous printmaker Angie Lewin.
 
I have her book 'Plants and Places' which is full of examples of her lino cuts, screen prints and lithographs.  The things I like best are images from her sketch book.  At the show, she was saying how she was sketching in Scotland recently, when she spotted a sea otter just a couple of metres away from her, watching her sketching!  Quite magical and lovely to hear the stories behind her artwork.
